About me

Aurora is a counsellor with over 20+ of experience and conforms to the BACP code of ethics.

Counsellor/Psychotherapist Clinical Supervisor/ Counselling Tutor

I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor with an FDA Degree in Arts Counselling, obtained at Middlesex University. As a Registered Member of the BACP, I work in full alignment with the BACP code of ethics, placing compassion, autonomy, and respect at the centre of every therapeutic relationship.

With many years of experience supporting adults, young people, couples, and families, I have dedicated my professional life to helping people navigate trauma, emotional difficulties, relationship challenges, and periods of transition. I founded Need To Talk Counselling Services, a charity-funded organisation that provides affordable and accessible counselling to the community — a project close to my heart and rooted in values of inclusion, dignity, and early intervention.

I have been a Clinical Supervisor since 2012, supporting trainee counsellors, qualified therapists, clinical supervisors, and managers through reflective, ethical supervision. Alongside this, I have worked as a CPCAB Counselling Tutor and currently serve as an External Verifier for CPCAB, ensuring high-quality training standards across counselling programmes.

My professional journey has also included roles beyond the therapy room. I have worked as an Operational Manager with Mind, managing mental health services, and as a Manager for Young People’s Counselling Services, both of which strengthened my leadership, safeguarding, and service-development skills. And outside the mental health world, I have even been a Zumba Instructor — combining movement, joy, and wellbeing!

I am also the presenter of a weekly radio show, “Self-Care with Aurora”, where I talk openly about emotional wellbeing, resilience, and how small acts of care can make a big difference.
Fluent in both English and Portuguese, I am able to support a diverse range of clients and ensure therapy is accessible and culturally attuned.

At the heart of all my work is a simple belief: every person deserves to feel heard, valued, and supported. My aim is to create a safe, warm, and non-judgmental space where you can explore, grow, and reconnect with your inner strength.
